Bachelorette party planning is not an easy job but it shouldn’t be a source of stress, either. Whether your party is going to be a reserved occasion or a wild party you can make it go off without a hitch if you just stay organized. There are a few key elements that you should plan for ahead of time; if you can do that, the party should be a memorable and entertaining success.
The first thing you need to keep in mind is location. You can, of course, choose someone’s home, a restaurant, a bar or club, or any combination. What is also very popular right now are destination bachelorette parties, where the whole group either drives out or flies to an exciting locale, such as New York City or Las Vegas.
This adds an especially sexy and exciting vibe to the evening, especially if you make reservations at a posh hotel. Many hotels offer special bachelorette party packages including a few free drinks and spa treatments for the bachelorette and her entourage.
Once you’ve decided on the location, day, and time, you can make the invitations. If you’re having a themed party, you’ll definitely want to incorporate it into the invitation, so that the guests can get ready for and excited about it. You can buy invitations at a store (novelty party stores even offer ones with pictures of hunky guys on the front) and fill in the blanks, make your own on the computer, or send e-invitations.
The invitation is also a great way to set the tone of the party if it’s going to be a low-key event, the invitation should probably have an overall classier look and more formal wording. If it’s going to be a night of revelry on the town, you’ll want to choose images and text that get that across. Be sure to give enough details so the guests have an idea of what’s going to happen but keep a few surprises for the big night!
The next element you’ll want to plan is the activities and by activities we mean not only the games, but theme, favors, and activities all of which should entertain the guests as much as possible.
A first idea is to give all the guests something to identify them as being part of the bachelorette group a pin, a beauty-queen sash, matching tank tops, a flower for the hair but something to set them off from the other groups of girls who are at the bar or club. If you have a theme, you can incorporate it here, with perhaps the motto of the night being printed on the item.
Whatever games you play, you’ll want to be sure to have plenty of naughty and/or romantic favors to give out as prizes, as well as something for everyone to take home. They can be a little bit raunchy (like penis pacifiers), or sweet and suggestive (like bubble bath).
And don’t forget your food and drinks are you having the guests help you out by bringing beverages or desserts? Is this going to be a potluck? Are you having the party catered? Do you know how to uncork a bottle of wine or champagne? Be sure you plan out all the details in advance and ask for help picking up items, if needed.
If you can get all these key elements organized AHEAD of time, you will find that your bachelorette party planning is a breeze. All you’ll need to do the day of the event is execute and have an amazing time, of course.
